Weight Watchers uses a balanced approach to promote weight loss. This is not a fast weight loss program, however most people on this plan will drop about 2 pounds per week.

Beginning in 2010, they started using a points system to determine which foods to eat. All foods are assigned a points number based on its protein, carbohydrate, fat, fiber, calories, and how long your body takes to burn it off.

There’s really not any restrictions on the types of foods you can eat as long as you stay within your daily target points. Weight Watchers list points for over 40,000 foods on their web site, so I’m sure you won’t have problems finding what you want to eat.

You shouldn’t go hungry, the daily points are high enough to allow for 3 meals a day along with two snacks.

Exercise is encourage with this program. Points are awarded on a number of activities and go toward extra food points. These extra points allows you to splurge every now and then so you can enjoy your favorite desert after your meal.

Most studies show that Weight Watchers is effective for weight loss and it also appears to promote good heart health. There’s no indications of serious risk or side effects, however it is always best to consult your doctor before pursuing any weight loss program.

The cost to join varies depending on if you attend their weekly meetings. I suggest that if you are interested, that you check out their website for additional information.
